The principals of River Associates have diverse backgrounds including operations, finance, accounting, commercial banking and investment banking. On the front end of a transaction, we are very hands-on in our approach. As such, we typically handle all due diligence matters ourselves. By doing so, we can make informed decisions and move quickly to a closing. As an opportunistic private equity group, we will consider investments in companies where there are unusual issues that might cause other investment groups to avoid a given opportunity. In addition, we have experience in the acquisition of quality companies that are in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings due to extraordinary reasons or balance sheet issues. Once we are partners with our management teams, we believe that daily operational autonomy should be in management’s hands. We view our role as that of active board members and pride ourselves on being great partners for management. We are firmly committed to supporting the internal and external growth initiatives of our portfolio companies.
